Material Control
Material Control
Midwest staffs personnel on each shift to assure customer material is properly identified when received and controlled through the entire electrocoat process.
ELECTRONIC INVENTORY CONTROLS
Midwest’s inventory control system can be accessed anytime to provide the current status for any customer part number (# pieces, date(s) received and shipped, lot number(s), location). Midwest utilizes barcoded labels to ensure accurate data entry throughout the entire electrocoat process.
LOT CONTROL AND TRACEABILITY
Midwest’s job ticket system is cross-referenced to customer lot or shipper numbers to provide traceability. The job ticket provides instructions (customer requirements) for processing and packing. The job ticket also enables Midwest to use a FIFO scheduling system.
SIMILAR PARTS PROCESSING
Midwest can handle the processing of similar looking parts without mixing (for ex. left hand/right hand parts). A computer program has been developed and implemented that flags similar parts and when similar parts are being run on the line within a two-hour window. Notification tags are printed for attachment to the lot control paperwork. This alerts employees throughout the system.
